About Jemima
Jemima Neal is a Midwestern author who loves timeless stories with themes of confidence, creativity, and wild imagination. Although masquerading as a businesswoman or college professor is in her resume, she has found the gig of mentoring, loving, and writing for young children the most rewarding. Her passions include reading (of course!), traveling to exotic places, baking and making a mess, annoying her children with silly rhymes, collecting art, and wildlife conservation. When Jemima was a little girl, the highlight of her week was the long walk to the library with her father to pick out a book. Listening with rapt attention when her father read to her instilled a lifelong appreciation for childrenʼs literature and illustrations. You can usually find Jemima either knee deep in cookie dough, taking a long walk in the woods or, if she is very lucky, sprawled out on a beach somewhere with her nose in a book. Jemima cites among her influences the great works of Beatrix Potter, Roald Dahl, and Dr. Seuss. She lives with her family and two dogs – one a very good dog and one a very bad dog- in an old house filled with paintings, books, and sugar.
